Description
The world of Cloudbreaker Alliance is populated by a colourful array of sentient lifeforms, from Orcs to Elves, Onis & Faunalians. The newly discovered humans form a minority among the ever-expanding registry of lifeforms compiled by the Cloudbreaker Alliance.
Two thousand years ago, for reasons that remained unknown, darkened clouds fell from the sky to engulf the world. What followed was the near obliteration of all civilizations by rampaging monsters that lurked within the murky mist. That event came to be known as Cloudfall.
The survivors that were able to fend off the advancing cloud walls eventually rebuilt their societies. Fueled by their isolation and distinct geography, power source and monstrous enemy types, they developed into unique civilizations.
- Sharable Resource - Player Characters (PCs) can transfer Spirit Tokens between each other to strategically coordinate their defensive or offensive Spirit Burst features. This system encourages teamwork.
- Enemy Morale System - Enemy groups come with a set of morale tokens. Game Masters can use morale tokens to empower enemies, but if they lose all their morale tokens, they are defeated. Inspired by Sun Tzu’s Art of War, this system heightens the risk & reward swing of combat situations.
- Open Book Policy - The monsters and hazards players encounter are regularly more powerful than them. But players can identify them monsters and look up their stats and weaknesses in the book. High information availability situations allows for easier formulation of group strategy.
- Neutralizing Monsters & Hazards - Instead of reducing the enemy's HP to 0, players have the option to neutralise them and drive them away with the right skills and toolkits. Hazards and traps can also be neutralized.
- Accessible Play Tools (2d6) - Cloudbreaker Alliance does not require any special dice to play, only two six sided dice are required.
One Roll Resolution - Completing tasks and performing attacks can be resolved with one roll of the dice. This speeds up the game and frees up more time for players to make interesting decisions.
